My understanding was that both Jimmy and Kim were chronic thieves and liars from a young age. by complete accident last year, i watched BCS first as i likes the clips of it i saw. For some reason, i stopped at the last season when the flashback episodes started. Then i started Breaking Bad, finished the BCS flashbacks and watched the movie. ALL BY COMPLETE ACCIDENT (my first time watching the series) Also, i think that BCS was more enjoyable to watch (first 4 seasons) than breaking bad was after the first season.

Fwiw you mention that Jimmy legally changes his name to Saul but I don't think he does. In the scene where he does the paperwork to become Saul, he calls it a DBA, aka Doing Business As. In other words I think he's registering a business alias, not fully changing his name.

I think, the correct order to watch the Breaking bad verse, is to first watch better call saul just before Nippy episode ending with him becoming saul, then watch breaking bad, and watch the last episodes of better call saul as an epilogue. Then el camino as the final send off.

To be honest, Chuck was acting out of bad faith when he stole back Mesa Verde. HHM didnt need that client, at least not at the time. Tbey had already made their choice to go with Kim and Chuck manipulated them to change that decision. Kim didnt bad mouth HHM when she won over Mesa Verde, but Chuck implied that Kim couldn't handle their workload. Just because he didn't outright badmouth Kim doesn't mean he wasn't trashing her.

Honestly, the only character in the entire BB/BCS universe who I'd say transforms from genuinely good to genuinely bad is Mike. All the other characters were either already deeply flawed by their introduction or stayed more or less the same.

Mike "Revenge" philosophy is purely wrong, i'm a naturallist. Meaning i'll think what ever a wild animal do is just. A wild animal don't revenge, they do what ever necessary to protect theirs kin and themselves. Vaga's Dad and Holly is both safe from the cops and the Salamancas, Mike didn't have to do jacksh*t. Mike is just an evil grudgeful old man, not a justify man in anyway. This Universe shows more than any others that there's no line between being good and thinking that you are doing good.

Wait, you don't think Chuck manipulated the Mesa Verde guys? If HHM were objectively a better option for them, then it would be ethical to argue in favor of HHM.
